At the heart of the GD Goenka School, Sultanpur, is an intensive programme which is aimed at increasing the endless opportunities for students to learn new skills and ignite new passions. We believe extra-curricular activities are an excellent way to what our students learn in the classroom. These activities are a vital element in any child’s development, often building on lessons and learnings that begin during school hours.

The Performing Arts infuse self confidence in children apart from manifesting their inherent talents and nurturing them. This self expression through the Performing Arts defines our inner selves and projects it to others for all to appreciate and admire.

The various performing arts are a platform to nurture the child's aesthetics and appreciation of the finer nuances of life.

All students are taught the importance of oratory skills: - the nuances, voice modulation, stress and intonation etc. which make a world of difference to the spoken words.

Dance, the most sublime form of creative expression, finds a niche both at important school functions and ceremonies. Students experiment with various dance forms to evolve fusions that clearly reflect their creativity. Music, both Instrumental and Vocal occupies an important and integral place in the school routine. All those with a penchant for music, find ample opportunities to learn both Western and Indian music. There is accomplished and qualified staff to teach instruments like the Piano, Violin, Guitar, Sitar and Tabla and students showcase their talents on many occasions.

Creative: SELF Expression

The Visual Arts are an expression of creativity and imagination. It is an outlet for individual thought, visualization and interpretation of ideas, events and environment. The elaborate Art Studios with the finest faculty guide the children to achieve finesse through numerous techniques and History of Art.

It is not just directed to evolve Artists but to infuse in each child an aesthetic sense and appreciation of beauty in life and surroundings. Appreciation of beauty in life and surroundings. Our Visual Arts Department has a wide range of activities planned to develop the finer side of the human in each being. From simple strokes of the pencil to designing sculptures and life-size tableau, our students have excelled in the various art forms.

LEADERSHIP Learning to BE

Education at GDGS is about leadership - we recognise the leader in each child. Our students excel in various fields, and also lead throughout their lives in the communities and organization to which they belong. Our learning model, campus, initiatives and alumni network combine to develop and focus the leadership abilities of our Students'.

The House System, the School Council and Personality development programmes are all designed to draw out the leadership qualities. Each child gets ample opportunities to showcase his abilities as a leader through collaborative projects and presentations.

Sports for life

SPORTS PERSONS ARE NOT BORN BUT MADE

Sports impart health and agility of mind in a practical manner on the playground. In addition to general physical development, it is here that they learn to become performers, achievers, decision makers and leaders. They are role models for other children as they are admired, applauded and followed. The Sports achievers are perceived as daring, driven by passion.

Sports and Games are an integral part of the curriculum at G D Goenka Public School. We provide ample opportunities for students to take part in team games or develop solo skills. Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part in sporting activities, to learn about team work, fitness and the value of sport in life. Well planned Cricket, Soccer and Skating facilities are being provided under the supervision of skilled instructors. The School encourages students to pursue any game of their interest and excel in the domain. Specialized coaching is provided for the same. Sports for all – Mass participation of children in Physical Education programme/ activities is considered mandatory in order to propel physical fitness of each individual.
