INTERACTIVE Classes

Technology as an enabler for learning

Interactive whiteboards are used in GDGS as reinforcement for traditional blackboards or flipcharts. These help to understand concepts better by integrating real time videos, presentations and animations. In addition, interactive whiteboards allow teachers to record their instruction and post the material for review by student at a later time.

This is a very effective instructional strategy for students who benefit from repetition, who need to see the material presented again, for students who are absent from school, for coping learners, and for review for examinations.

  • Creative video files to teach a software application, a lesson, or as a review to be posted to the server or web.
  • Use the built in maps to teach continents, oceans, countries, and geographical alignment.
  • Discuss presentations created by student or teacher.
  • Have students create e-folios including samples of their work and narration.
  • Use ‘flipped classrooms’ as self learning tools by students.
  • Digital storytelling.
  • Take notes directly into PowerPoint presentations.
  • Reinforce skills by using on-line interactive web sites.
  • Creating a project calendar.
  • Teaching students how to navigate the Internet.
  • Create and illustrate "flash fiction".

Use the Interwrite software to create lessons in advance at home or at school. Then save them for future use or to be shared with other teachers.

  • Diagramming activities.
  • Connected to School ERP/ Management System.

Right from the time the child enters the School portals, each aspect of the childs well being and safety is taken care of Trained personnel ensure that no child is secluded or alone at any point and that each child is provided care and support as required.

While we endeavour to provide a completely safe campus, the Goenkan model also focuses on making each child aware of his/her own protection and become independent in taking care of him/herself. Workshops on Self-awareness, Traffic rules, Self defence, Cyber safety, Adolescent issues, Emergency and Disaster Response, etc. ensure that students can stop-think-act in a responsible manner to any situation/ person which may pose a risk or threat to them in the society. Thus all our students learn to respond responsibly and not just react to any circumstances throughout their lives.

Health and Hygiene

Good Hygiene is a key part of quality living. In day to day life settings, hygiene practices are  employed as preventive measures for preservation of health and healthy living. Sparkling cleanliness is just one part to ensure quality and prevent the onset of disease causing organisms.

Another step in the direction is the provision for drinking water. Only R.O. water is served for drinking in disposable glasses through a large number of water dispensers placed at convenient locations all over the campus. The School cafeteria managed in a professional manner serves nourishing, wholesome snacks, meals and juices in the most hygienic conditions.

The menu is planned by a qualified nutritionist keeping in mind the growing children and their taste palette.
